Aloha Community,
I've had the profound honor of to serve as the newest Board member for Hawaiʻi People's Fund (HPF), a non-profit organization that distributes community-raised funds through our activist-led grant-making, resourcing small, passionate grassroots groups helping to fuel a growing movement for positive social change in the Hawaiian islands.
As an Indigenous Native Hawaiian leader who was born and raised in Hawai'i, this organization's mission & vision in sustaining's Hawai'i future is near & dear in my heart. Hawai'i & my people have suffered environmental & economical impacts due to colonization. However, this organization is fueling grassroots orgs on the frontlines working to reshape Hawaiʻi's system and empower regular, working families in 2022.
We want to continue expanding our efforts to shift funds into community groups working to not only meet people's direct needs, but also fundamentally transform Hawaiʻi into a more just and robust landscape – whether through language and cultural continuance, establishing energy sovereignty, helping ʻohana keep their ancestral lands, or numerous other vital projects.
Any donation, now matter the size, is greatly appreciated – our collective commitment and contributions is what makes this work and the promise of better futures possible.
