You read that right ~ despite my free-spirited youthful glow, my mamaʻs youngest is indeed reaching that 5-0 milestone this year I give thanks everyday for a half century of love, laughs, and learning, and to commemorate the occasion, iʻm once again lifting up the amazing works of HPF and the tremendous impact its movement allies make in our beloved Hawaiʻi
From January through May, HPF is hosting Giving Project 2023!! 19 AMAZING and committed folx across 3 islands and 6 states are coming together every other Saturday to radically transform the way we move money to movements for real change from the roots up by learning together (virtually and in-person), deepening our connections with grassroots organizations here at home, and engaging in collective liberation learning and practices to amplify and illuminate social change efforts throughout our pae ʻāina
Weʻre applying our time, talents, and resources to supporting movements for social change by uplifting, advocating for, and raising funds to support HPFʻs grantee cohort. Funds iʻm able to shift will be swirled around with the efforts of 19 others, and that abundance will be deployed directly to HPFʻs community partners who are combatting systems of oppression, everyday
If youʻre in Camp CHANGE and believe that the hard work and determination of our grassroots warriors present a SOLUTION to the biz-as-usual f**kery afoot in Hawaiʻi, cʻmon with me!! My $5,000 fundshifting goal reflects my 50-00 years on this beautiful honua ~ Iʻm personally throwing $50-0 into the pot (cuz itʻs goofy and has a 5 and a 0 in it lol), though ANY amount youʻre able to contribute is a powerful commitment to the future we want to build for future generations
