Shifting Funds to Grassroots Movements in Hawai'i
Join me in supporting movements for social change!
Aloha!
For the past several weeks, I’ve been participating in the Giving Project through the Hawai’i People’s Fund. The Giving Project works to shift funds to grassroots groups that are community-focused, constituent-led and support long term social change.
Twice a month, my fellow members and I meet and develop a deeper understanding of how injustice, racism, classism and power plays out in Hawai’i. With this understanding, we develop skills as community advocates and organizers. We also learn about the grantees and the important work that they do within their community.
As someone who considers Hawai’i my adopted home, this project is near and dear to my heart. If you have had the honor and privilege of calling Hawai’i home as well, or experienced Hawai’i as a traveler, I ask that you reflect on what Hawai’i means to you, how has Hawai’i impacted your life, and what return could you give in gratitude?
Any donation amount is greatly appreciated and goes towards supporting work that will create a just and equitable Hawai’i!
Here's more information on the grantees that we are supporting in this year’s Giving Project.
Mahalo nui for your joining me in supporting social change in Hawai’i!
