Aloha nō kākou,
Our world is suffering under heavy systems of oppression.
Collectively, we can begin to HEAL our world! In January of this year, I joined Hawaiʻi Peopleʻs Fundʻs Giving Project 2024, a wonderful collection of human beings that join a proud lineage of community advocates and activists determined to radically transform our world and the way we move money to movements for real change. From the roots up. Our mighty hui of 18 reimagines a NEW world that celebrates activism by creating avenues to plug in, advocate, and fundshift in support of HPFʻs 32 grassroots BANGAHZ who are out there every day changing Hawaiʻi for the better.
JOIN ME on this journey ~ learn about the 32 community partners and systems of oppression they are tackling, listen to the Hawaiʻi Rising podcast that HPF produces highlighting the important work each grantee hui does, and help us fuel unrestricted grants to them to continue to fight! These huis dedicate (largely uncompensated) time and mana to improving community health and well-being, language and culture reclamation, environmental justice, wāhine empowerment, reproductive justice, community-based sustainability, preservation of indigenous stories and practices, indigenizing education, period justice, youth activism, artivism, and workers rights, and the list goes on! I would LOVE to talk story about how they do this ~ HOLLA!
These are things that I care deeply about, and an invitation to YOU to ACTIVATE YOUR ACTIVISM ~ doing WHAT YOU CAN FROM WHERE YOU ARE ~ by contributing to my fundshifting goal of $1,600. The GP24 hui goal is $100,000, and my ambitious goal is ~1% of that ($1,600). LET'S TAKE BACK THE 1% to make MEANINGFUL CHANGE in our beloved pae ʻāina!
